Surrounded by his wife, Marie Cagenon, and their three children, Jacquot, Fillon and Binbin, he travels the city every year for three days on the occasion of the Gayant festivals in early July. Blocquel joined forces in 1809 with the publisher Castiaux, but it was not until 1818 that its association was regularized. After the death of his wife, he remarried to Castiaux's daughter in 1836. On the death of his father in 1855, it was Castiaux's son, Louis, who succeeded him in the association.
