From the set : Arabesques invented and engraved by J. D. Dugourc Paris, Chereau, 1782

Jean-Démosthène Dugourc (1749-1825) became famous in the designs for theater costumes and in 1780 became a designer for the Cabinet of Monsieur. He worked for the greatest bronzers of the time: Gouthière, Godon and Thomire as well as for the king of Spain under the Empire and competed with Percier and Fontaine. He was also designer of the Menus Plaisirs from 1817 to 1823.

This rare suite, originally composed of six plates, the only one engraved by Dugourc himself, was intended to decorate the panels of one of the rooms of the Hotel de la Vaupalière rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, called "Dugourc antechamber "

Beautiful prints with large margins, a few folds of printing with Water and Earth, a small stain in the right margin of Air.
