A ukiyo-e artist, also known as Ikkeisai, Keisai, Asaakero, and Betsugo. A student of Kuniyoshi, he began producing color prints in the early Ansei period (1854-1859), specializing in portraits of actors and women. During the Meiji era, he became a renowned newspaper illustrator, working for several newspapers.
