Georges is the third son of the painter Camille Pissarro who was his first teacher. Manzana-Pissarro is influenced by Japanese prints as much as the Tahitian and Martinican scenes of Gauguin and develops a penchant for Orientalism which results in the use of gold, silver and copper paint which he enhances his watercolors of fish and birds. Also interested in Applied Arts, he studied the English Arts movement in London.
