Eiichi Kotozuka was a commercial illustrator and woodblock printmaker.
A prolific artist in the sōsaku-hanga style, a member of the Seiryusha group of liberal artists, he was one of the four co-founders, along with Tokuriki, Tobei, and Tasaburo, of the Koryokusha publishing house.
He was renowned for his prints depicting Japanese customs, flowers, landscapes, and wildlife.
