French painter, watercolorist, pastelist, engraver, and collector, Ernest Rouart is one of the four sons of Henri Rouart, and the husband of Julie Manet, the daughter of Berthe Morisot and Eugène Manet.
He was above all a student of Degas and exhibited at the National Society of Fine Arts, at the Salon du Champ-de-Mars, and at the Indépendants.
